About this drawing

Media: Wacom Graphie 3 tablet, Adobe Photoshop CS3
Time used: ~27 hours + 2 hours of peregrine falcon studies
Lineart by: ~Sareii - can be viewed here

Finally! After a lot of hard work a very special piece of art is done.

This was done for my ex, at an earlier time.

In June 2009, I asked Aurora if she could make a sketch featuring my ex and I, and this is what she turned up with so all credit goes to her for that! I just added the colour.

I personally think I outdid myself while colouring this though. A lot of new techniques were used, and I experimented along the way, which is why it took so long (that, and I wanted it to come close to perfection).

So yeah! I'm very proud of it. ^v^

The inspiration for the theme came from Celine Dion's A World To Believe In, a song I associated with him at the time. It used to remind me of some good things back then.

Right before my London trip I remember obsessing over this, drawing for 14 hours straight.

Another thing worth mentioning is that my working resolution was huge... 3050x4050px, so this is the resized version.

So yeah. There's lots more I could say, but I think I'll leave it at this. History is history, after all. No need to linger on what has been, but appreciate it for what it was =)

I have said how I liked this in the chat some time back, but let me just comment again on this piece here:

You might not be able to draw, but you still can colour well; not only that, you have a masterful grip on the colouring here. The hues are overall very well-selected, and the clouds are very richly shaded - perhaps the only bad thing about it was the fuzziness on the tops of the clouds.

Comparing both the original lineart and your coloured version here, I can really say that you truly brought the whole piece of work to life here.

You're right about the fuzziness, except on the cloud closest to the bottom, it's got way too much fluff. Someone requested a print of it in a comment further up so when I get around to addressing his wish I'll look into fixing that.

Thank you for a brilliant comment, I hope I can get the honours of colouring another artpiece of Aurora's in the future, as she's got great lineart to work with.

I love those clouds. This whole piece of work is so full of warm colours, and those clouds gives it a sense of late evening sky. *stares at the clouds*
Nice work :D
